ASRB NET Exam Result and ASRB NET 2026 Exam Date: Revised Schedule for ARS, SMS and STO

ASRB aspirants have had a stressful run. Exam dates moved, admit cards arrived late, and two questions keep coming up in every study group: what is the status of the ASRB NET exam result, and what is the ASRB NET 2026 exam date? This guide answers both using what the board has announced and what is still tentative. Where something is not confirmed, we say so plainly, so you do not plan your preparation around a rumour.

Revised Schedule of the Combined NET, ARS, SMS and STO Exam

Why the Dates Changed

The combined CBT for NET-2025 and the preliminary exam for ARS, SMS (T-6) and STO (T-6) was first planned for 2 to 4 September 2025. It was postponed, reportedly because of heavy rain, and moved to November 2025. The combined Mains (Descriptive) exam, first set for 7 December 2025, was then rescheduled to 1 March 2026, a Sunday.

Old Date Versus New Date

In short, the CBT moved from September to November 2025, and the Mains moved from 7 December 2025 to 1 March 2026. Every later stage shifted with them, which is why the whole cycle ran late.

ASRB NET Exam Result: Where Things Stand

Prelims and NET Result

ASRB declared the NET-2025 and preliminary result on 19 December 2025. Qualified candidates were shortlisted for the Mains, and results were released separately for NET, ARS, SMS and STO.

Mains Result

The Mains was held on 1 March 2026, after the admit card was released in February. Reports from mid 2026 described the final Mains outcome as pending, and ARS, SMS and STO candidates then move to the interview stage. Please check asrb.org.in for the current status, because this is the part most likely to have changed.

How to Check the Result

Open asrb.org.in, go to the results section and select the notice for your exam. Download the PDF, look for your roll number and save a copy for later.

ASRB NET 2026 Exam Date

Tentative Schedule

ASRB's tentative schedule for the 2026 cycle places the notification in August 2026, the combined CBT for NET-2026 and the preliminary exam in November 2026, and the Mains in March 2027. These are tentative months, not fixed dates. Given how the last cycle moved, treat every date as provisional until the official notice and admit card are out.

What to Do Right Now

Do not wait for the notification. Revise your subject syllabus, solve previous year papers and practise for a bilingual CBT of 150 questions in 2 hours, as in the last cycle.

Selection Process for ARS, SMS and STO

NET is a single-stage exam with no interview. ARS, SMS (T-6) and STO (T-6) involve a qualifying preliminary exam, a Mains and an interview, and final selection depends on Mains and interview performance.

Preparation Tips While You Wait

Build a Fixed Routine

Study your core subject in the morning and practise questions in the evening. Consistency beats long study days, so three focused hours daily will take you further than one exhausting weekend.
