Part II: Economics (Core Subject) 90 MCQs 270 Marks
Total 120 Questions 360 Marks 2 Hours

Marking Scheme: Each correct answer earns +3 marks, while each incorrect or multiple-marked answer attracts a penalty of -1 mark. This negative marking makes accuracy just as important as speed and knowledge.

In case of a tie in overall marks, the Commission resolves it by looking successively at written exam marks, interview marks, percentage in the mandatory qualification (with weightage to Ph.D./JRF/NET combinations), postgraduate marks, and finally the candidate's age (older candidates get preference).
